Tom has been advising families, entrepreneurs, endowments, and foundations for over 30 years to help preserve and grow their wealth.

Tom’s journey in finance and investing began in the late ’80s. He spent his early years specializing in high yield and investment-grade credit markets at Conseco Capital Management (CCM). In 1993, he transitioned to equity investing and took charge of a small $10 million equity composite at CCM, expanding it to over $1 billion by 2000. During this time, Tom solidified his reputation as a growth investor. His approach uses bottom-up analysis to identify companies harnessing innovative technologies to open new markets and gain market share from existing incumbents.

In 2000, Tom moved his team to Strong Capital Management, which was later acquired by Wells Fargo in 2004. At Wells Fargo, Tom and his team emerged as one of the firm’s premier growth teams. Their assets under management grew to over $18 billion in just five years, earning national recognition from Barron’s and Morningstar in the process. Throughout his career as a growth investor, Tom has personally engaged with thousands of CEOs, applying rigorous analysis to assess business strategies and evaluate whether their stock prices reflected the potential of the underlying businesses. His insights led to appearances on CNBC and features in publications such as Barron’s, the Wall Street Journal, Fortune, Kiplinger’s, and Forbes.

Beyond his professional achievements, Tom is a voracious reader and networker who has traveled to over 60 countries, constantly seeking change dynamics unfolding globally. After 25 years as an institutional investor, he decided in 2016 to apply his experience towards guiding private clients, utilizing the best practices he developed investing and servicing global pension funds, endowments, and his personal family assets.

Outside of finance, Tom’s diverse interests include mountain biking, motocross, extreme snow skiing, water skiing, golf, and surfing. Tom avidly participates in these hobbies with his wife Melissa, their six adult children, grandchildren, and friends.
